Performers’ Rights Society of the Philippines (PRSP)

About Us

The Performers’ Rights Society of the Philippines is a non-stock, non-profit organization established in 2010.

It serves as a collective management organization (CMO) specifically representing and protecting the rights of Filipino performers. This includes singers, actors, musicians, dancers, and other performing artists.

How We Help Creative Industries

  • Neighbouring Rights Management: PRSP focuses on “neighboring rights”, which are the rights of performing artists concerning the broadcast, public performance, and reproduction of their performances.
  • Licensing and Royalty Collection: Similar to other CMOs, PRSP issues licenses to businesses and establishments that publicly use recorded performances (in radio, television, bars, etc.). They meticulously collect royalties from these licenses.
  • Royalty Distribution: PRSP ensures collected royalties are fairly distributed to the performers whose recordings or performances were used.
  • Protection of Performers’ Rights: PRSP advocates for the rights and welfare of performers, negotiates with stakeholders in the music and entertainment industries, and educates the public about the importance of performers’ rights.
